Management
Our four management areas are essential for the correct operation of the IIM, supporting the rest of our staff with paperwork, legal duties and procedures.
As a public research center, the IIM-CSIC is committed to transparency and to the proper use of the public resources allocated to it. Management functions in CSIC centers and institutes are described in article 3.3.4 of the CSIC Regulations, which govern Research Institutes and other organizations linked to the development of research activities within the CSIC.
At the IIM, the Manager is directly responsible for four management areas: Human Resources, Economic Management, Scientific Programming, and Goods and Acquisitions.
Main Responsibilities
The Manager of the Institute directly reports to the Director (without prejudice to the functions assigned to the Director) and is supported by the staff of the different management areas. Management is responsible for:
- The administrative organization of the Institute.
- Acting as Head of Staff with regard to the administrative regime and supervision of all administrative or technical service units.
- Managing the center’s assets and supervising the correct use of the facilities.
- Managing the internal regime.
- Coordinating maintenance and general services.
- Managing the economic sustainability and personnel of ongoing projects or contracts, without prejudice to the responsibilities of the principal investigators.
- Acting as the Secretary of the Institute Governing Board.
